Disaster Recovery Construction Manager
The United Methodist Church Rio Texas Conference in San Antonio, Texas is accepting resumes for a full-time/temporary Disaster Recovery Construction Manager in Aransas Pass, TX. This position is grant-funded and the expected duration is 6-8 months. Rio Texas Conference Disaster Recovery Construction Project Manager will work with the disaster response efforts in assisting communities impacted by Hurricane Harvey in 2017. The Manager will collaborate with the Disaster Recovery Construction Supervisor, the Disaster Recovery ‐ Case Management Supervisor, and the Disaster Recovery Asset Manager regarding the coordination of identified volunteer teams for assignment and placement in fieldwork sites. This person will: a.) coordinate and provide logistical support to volunteer construction teams or professional contractors; b.) identify particular skills needed for home construction repairs to make available for volunteer recruitment; c.) coordinate with case management on all client communications and construction repairs. The manager will work with survivors impacted by Hurricane Harvey to provide home repairs that will allow them to reestablish normalcy. The manager must have a strong desire to serve others and the ability to perform all duties with an understanding of the mission and ministry of the Rio Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church.
