Communications & Development Strategist

Project Transformation is seeking a Communications and Development Strategist.

Position Summary: The Project Transformation (PT) Communications & Development Strategist, based in Rio Grande Valley (RGV), will have both internal and external facing responsibilities, ranging from partnership development to individual donor cultivation as well as communication and marketing duties. This will include undergirding and building capacity through community development and cultivating relationships with education, faith, and community partners. It will involve working closely with the CEO to cultivate and undergird PT’s growth and sustainability to an ever-increasing demand for the organization’s services.

Classification: Full-time, exempt status

Job Duties

• Model Project Transformation’s core values: mutual relationships, intentional community, connectional ministry, discernment of purpose, empowerment of young people, servant leadership, holistic development, and Wesleyan practice of faith.

• Create new and build upon existing partnerships to increase funding, people, and collaborations in the RGV. • Oversee PT fundraising activities with a focus on funding specifically for the RGV geography in coordination with the CEO, board of directors, local advisory councils, and development committee.

• Work with the Director of Operations to develop a marketing plan that includes curating engaging content for social media platforms, the PT website, and email marketing that tells PT’s story and mission while aligning the organization’s brand.

• Manage RGV site operations as a part of the PT staff including RGV program implementation to meet the needs of Children, College, and Churches.

• Create new funding and volunteer streams.

• Collaborate with other non-profits that align with PT’s mission and vision to broaden our impact in the Rio Grande Valley.

• Discern unmet needs and ways we can help meet those needs.

Minimum Requirements:

• An enthusiastic, highly-motivated personality with the desire to serve others.

• Strong public speaking skills.

• Spanish language skills are not required but highly beneficial.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to relate effectively to people from all social and economic backgrounds.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as social media platforms.

• Experience with, or willingness to learn, Salesforce, WordPress, video conferencing, and graphic design software. • Well organized and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Must present a professional image and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• Ability to pass a background check.

• Ability to transport self to and from work-related commitments.

• TRUSTED con Confianza Certification (Rio Texas Conference safety policy and training ministry—instructions upon hire).

Compensation: Starting salary of $36,000 with a $2,000 signing bonus, plus a potential end-of-year bonus based on funding development. Package includes health and retirement benefits after a 90-day probation period, and generous paid PTO and holidays. Travel expenses include accommodations and mileage, following PT travel policies.

Schedule: Monday-Friday with occasional evenings/weekends. This position is based in the Rio Grande Valley with office space provided. Opportunity to work remotely.
