Student Ministries Summer Intern
/Asbury United Methodist Church in Corpus Christi, Texas is seeking a Student Ministries Summer Intern from May-August 2018
We are looking for someone to assist a strong student ministry adult volunteer team with our outreach and discipleship programs and activities this summer.
Qualifications:
· A strong Christian, committed to Christ and the church as the Body of Christ.
· An individual who senses a call to ministry and desires a place to follow and process that calling.
· A lifestyle that reflects an authentic commitment to Christ and one that can be modeled for youth.
· A desire to work with and learn from youth and adult volunteers.
· Ability to serve well with others.
· Ability to manage time, complete assignments, and initiate new ideas and tasks.
Compensation:
· The salary for the Youth Intern will be $300 per week (before taxes) from May-August for 12-16 weeks (flexible)
· Housing available upon request with a host family
Expectations:
· Work directly with the Youth Ministry Team to plan, implement, and participate in activities that are designed to help teens connect to Jesus and deepen their faith walk. These activities include but are not limited to--
· VBS program
· Madness and Mayhem
· Wed evening youth open gym type and bring a short devotion each week
· Help with Sunday morning classes and Sunday evening youth group
· Assist with ongoing plans for the fall
· Communicate through youth’s social media outlets regularly
· Brainstorm additional ways to connect students to Christ
Education & Experience:
1. Completed freshman year of college
2. Experience in student ministry as a student leader
3. Good social media skills
