First United Methodist Church (PFUMC), Pflugerville, Tx seeks Half Time Director of Family & Children’s Ministry to provide specific direction to children, ages from 0-11 (birth to elementary age) at PFUMC.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field. Continuing education credits in related field or other specialized training considered.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE: Minimum 3 years of experience in local church or similar organization and knowledge of the United Methodist Church.

Requirements of position include:

·         Establish and communicate vision for Children’s Ministries for FUMC, which is consistent with the vision of the church

·         Coordinate all aspects of children ministries that promote spiritual formation and experiences for the children of FUMC

·         Develop and maintain a program which establishes faith development goals for children.

·         Monitors children’s ministries for measurable growth

·         Maintain and continue to develop programs enabling children to explore ways to serve others and engage in outreach at appropriate age levels.

·         Oversee fund-raising for the annual operating budget so children’s ministries are responsibly funded.

·         Partner and support with staff to promote the general mission and vision of FUMC

·         Maintain children’s programs including recruiting, training and retaining volunteers.  Oversees adult teams for growing the children’s program.

·         Execute a communication plan to promote children’s ministry to church members and the community.

Working Hours: Average 20 hours/week; Flex-Hours with emphasis placed on meeting the responsibilities assigned to the position.

Salary Range: $15-$25,000
