Does your church need to share Christ’s love to the mission field but your leadership team needs to be better equipped to do so? Many churches today are faced with this same dilemma, but choose to increase their awareness, understanding, and learn strategies to help them effectively step out in faith.

The Missional Leadership (MLD) collaborative learning curriculum has been created for the Rio Texas Conference for this purpose. This curriculum will provide resources to help your leaders collaborate, learn, and plan action steps to leading the congregation toward increasing efforts to share the love of Jesus Christ to persons in the community surrounding the church.

The curriculum, written by Ken Willard who is a contributing author to the Healthy Church Initiative materials, is made up of an introductory session and twelve lessons or learning modules based upon current books and learnings from experts on missional leadership. Each of the lessons will include a Facilitator’s Guide, a Participant’s Workbook, and a corresponding PowerPoint Presentation.

Some of the lessons will focus on the leader’s personal sense of calling, life management, and spiritual formation for a missional mindset. Other lessons address providing quality pastoral leadership for missional purposes. Another category of lessons will offer strategies and considerations for leading the church outward into its mission field. This curriculum is free of charge to districts and churches in the Rio Texas Conference. Training and orientations for the use of the materials will be scheduled periodically and will also be available through an online interactive program.

It is hoped that this curriculum will provide an informational platform to assist both clergy and laity groups of the Rio Texas Conference develop greater capacity to provide missional leadership to assist in making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
